Getting Started With Golfing

Are you new to the game golf of golf?  Looking for a new way to spend some free time with your buddies or lady friend?  Golf is a great way to spend the day and get some exercise while you at it.

At first glance golf can see incredibly complicated and irritating.  If you get overwhelmed by the rules and the different clubs you will get frustrated fast.  Also, don’t expect to be the best on your first outing.

Outside getting the mental game down there are a few other tips I can give you to help make your first day on the course much easier.

First, if you aren’t sure if you will jump into the deep end with your new golfing hobby, don’t rush out and buy clubs and golfing shoes.  Check online first and see if you can find something use. I’d take a look at Craigslist or maybe even ebay and see if there are any good deals hanging out.

Second, stretch!  While golf might not seem like a high impact sport, if you aren’t warmed up you can easily strain something and end your outing early.

My third suggestion would be to get a golf coach.  On your first trip it’s worth the money to work with the course pro and get a few tips and techniques and have them take a look at your swing.  You will save yourself a lot of headache and missed swings by having someone walk you through your stroke.
